Crazed Dogs Finish Second at Nationals
Fire Cats and Shockwave Show Well

The Shockwave (Storm, Slapshot, Tank, Flex, Rocket, and Super Sonic) had a great first appearance at the National Championships! The Shockwave won their first game before losing their second game 2-1 to the Storm Rockets (ranked 4th in the nation). They went on to tie  #11 Mini Bad Girls and ended pool play with a 1-1-1 record. The Shockwave finished up their games in the first round of the playoffs with (another) 1 goal loss to the #14 WC Wildcats.
Congratulations Coach Stewart and the Shockwave!

The Fire Cats (Sparky, D-A-S-H, Striker, Chopper, Rocko, and Warrior) for the second year in a row received a tough draw and were in pool 3 along with the # 3 Explosion from Jacksonville Fl.  The Cats played well against the Explosion but came up one goal short. The Cats went on to dominate the rest of their pool and ended pool play 3-1 and seeded second. The Cats then went on to win their first playoff game against 7th ranked Triple Trouble out of TX. The Cats had a tough draw in their next game in the #5 ranked Hot Shots (who ended up taking 4th place). The Hot Shots got revenge on the Cats who had beaten the Hot Shots several weeks earlier thus ending what was a great run for the Cats. Coach Jen and the Cats received many complements for their play this weekend.
Congratulations Coach Jen and the Cats!

The Crazed Dogs (Big Shot, Sweet Feet, Hollywood, Fireball, and Flash) started their pool play slow with a one point win then went on to dominate their pool and came out with a first seed and  a bye in the first round of the playoffs. After getting by WC Wildcats (which earlier in the day eliminated the Shockwave), the Dogs put forth a great performance vs. #8 Chelsea 99 Blue to advance to the Semi Finals where they met  the # 3 ranked Explosion. The Dogs got off to a fast start and had the Explosion down 3-0. The Explosion came roaring back and tied the game in the final minutes of the second half. The game went to a Golden Goal Sudden Death 3 minute overtime. At the end sudden death overtime, the score was still tied 3-3 which sent the Dogs to the PK line for the second year in a row… this time for a chance to move to the championship game…

First up… Big Shot… hit! 4-3 Crazed Dogs
The Explosion hit their first shot 4-4
Next up… Sweet Feet…  hit! 5-4 Dogs
The Explosion misses and the score remains 5-4 Dogs.
Hollywood stepped to the line.  If she hits it Crazed Dogs win… if she misses, the Explosion get a chance to tie and the girls start over.
Hollywood hits...Crazed Dogs win 6-4 and advance to the title game.

In the title game the Dogs were defeated by the #1 ranked Lima Beans.

Congratulations to Coach Kevin and the Crazed Dogs for a great tournament and final ranking of #2 in the United States.
